Rorie's Ornaments Card

Hi! Yes, I am still making last minute Christmas cards! This 6 by 6 inch card was made with the adorable "Rorie's Ornaments" from Lacy Sunshine.

CARD RECIPE

1. 6 by 6 inch white card base
2. 5 3/4 by 5 3/4 inch mat cut from a striped design from the Pixey    Stix glitter stack by the Paper Studio.
 3. 6 by 6 inch pink mat.
4. 4 by 6 "Rorie's Ornaments" image printed at 4 by 6 inches and
trimmed down to 3 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches. Image was printed on  Spectrum Noir Cardstock.
5. 7 inch piece of 1 1/2 inch wide white lace.
6. 2 1/2 inch premade shaker ornament sticker.
7. Scrap of silver metallic trim.
8. Tape, tape runner and glue.
9. Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and clear Glitter Marker.

Wrap the lace around the right side of the striped mat so that the edge is about 1/4 inch in from the right edge. Tape in place on the back of the mat. Use the silver trim to make a loop in which to hang the ornament. Tape the ends to the back of the mat at the top edge, centered over the lace. Attach the ornament over the lace so it is centered.

Mount your colored image on the pink mat, then attach both to the striped mat, centered on the left side. Attach the striped mat to the white card base and you are finished! I love the unconventional colors I used in this card.

Trolls

I recently stepped down from the KBD design team to catch up with my personal life and recharge my batteries. Of course that does not mean that I have given up crafting! I'll still be here sharing my passion, I'll just be using a more varied source of inspiration.

Lacy Sunshine has recently come out with a line of adorable troll images that I love. She had a couple Freebies, "Broomkin Troll" and "Angelkin Troll" that I just had to color up and make into cards.

The Broomkin Troll card measures 5 1/2 by 6 inches. The image is printed on a 3 1/2 by 4 inch piece of Spectrum Noir Cardstock and was colored with the new vintage colors from Spectrum Noir.

Color Palette

Skin: LG1,3, CG1
Hair:BO1,2,3, TN4
Hat: IB1, VB1,2,3, BGR5
Dress:LV1, DP2,3,4, DR7
Broom: GB1,4,7
Stars: Gold glitter gel pen
I also used a white gel pen on the eyes and the tooth.

My second card using Angelkin Troll is 5 by 7 inches. The image is printed on a 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch piece of Spectrum Noir Cardstock. I used a lot of palette blending when coloring this image.

Color Palette

Skin: EB1, HB1, LV2
Hair: LV1,3, HB2,3
Dress: CG1, LG1, LY2, LV1, blender
Wings: BT1, blender
Cloud: BT1, LV1, HB1, blender
Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen was added to the wings, candle and cloud.
A gold glitter gel pen was used on the halo and candle flame. A white gel pen was used on the eyes.

Thanksgiving Indians

Today is my day to share on the Digital Delights by Louby Loo Blog for "Anything Goes." I made a little teepee centerpiece using the "Thanksgiving Indian Set" which can be found here:
http://digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_17&products_id=787

I created a tepee pattern in design space that looked like this:

Seven inch twigs were taped to every other crease line on the inside of the tepee. Then the tepee was formed into a cone and glued together in the back. The tepee is about 6 inches tall and the Indians are about 3 1/2 inches tall. The sentiment is about 2 inches wide.

Thanksgiving Pilgrims Double Display Card

Hi! Today I am sharing my Hostess Monday project for Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

For my project I made a double display card. I got the idea for my card here: www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com

I used "Thanksgiving Pilgrims Set" and "Fall Accessories Set" for my card. I printed and cut my images out at 3 to 3 1/2 inches using design space and my cricut explore. The images were colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. Small flower punch accents were added throughout.

I made the card base from a 6 by 12 inch piece of cardstock. The cardstock was creased at 2 inches, 4 inches, 8 inches and 10 inches. Cut lines were made one inch down from the top and one inch up from the bottom. They are 4 inches long from the 1 inch mark to the 5 inch mark and from the 7 inch mark to the 11 inch mark. These strips were then creased at the beginning and the end. (at 1 inch, 5 inches, 7 inches and 11 inches)

Two 6 by 2 1/2 inch panels are attached to the front of the closed card to create the display area. The band to keep the card closed is made from a 1 1/2 by 12 inch strip of paper mounted on a 1 3/4 by 12 inch strip of cardstock. This was loosely wrapped around the card and glued together in the back. A 4 inch fence and a 2 inch sentiment were attached to this band. Small flower punch accents were added.

Fall Wreath

Today is the start of a new Facebook challenge called "Fabulous Fall" on the KBD Challenge page. You can create  anything you like as long as it is fall themed, so grab your favorite fall files and get creative!

For my "Fabulous Fall" project I made a 12 inch fall wreath using these adorable files.

I used an 11 1/2 inch tag board ring as the base of my wreath. I cut about thirty 3 to 4 inch leaves enlarged from the files used. This was a good way to use up all my fall colored scraps of paper. The squirrels are about 5 inches tall and each acorn is about 1 1/2 inches. I made the 7 by 3 inch title in design space using Pooh font. I used three, 1 inch pieces of 1/4 inch wide ribbon to make a hangar. This was a fun, easy project.

Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to see all the great fall projects you all make!
