3d Poinsettia Ornaments

Hi! I've been busy making these beautiful 3 d poinsettia ornaments.

I used three files from My Scrap Chick for this project.

Materials

Silver and white glitter cardstock
Rose red, green and light green, and light grey cardstock
white ivy embossed cardstock
3/8 inch wide poinsettia ribbon
light green seed beads
glue and adhesives

Adhesives used

I made the Scalloped Oval Tag Layers 4.5 inches tall. I omitted the smallest layer. The bottom layer is silver glitter cardstock, the second layer is light gray cardstock, the third layer is white glitter cardstock and the top layer is embossed vine white cardstock. I inked all the edges in gray. I put the layers together using foam tape between the top two layers and the bottom two layers. I glued the other two layers together.

Watch the video to see how the flowers are put together.

I used a pick to make a line on the back of the flower pieces which made the creasing of the petals easier. I curled the tips of the petals like I would to curl ribbon.

I used foam squares between the layers instead of wire and glue. I used a single layer of foam squares between the layers of the flower and a double layer of foam squares between the layers of leaves.

I added a generous dollop of glue to the middle of the yellow flower centers and added about 6 light green seed beads.

I cut an 8 inch piece of 3/8 inch wide poinsettia print ribbon, folded it in half and tucked the ends between the bottom two layers at the top of the oval layers. This was held in place with glue dots and liquid glue. I then made and attached a small bow made with the same ribbon.

I love how these turned out! They look so much better in person.
Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear what you think.

Merry Christmas!

Caroling Kids Easel Card

Hi! There is still time to get those last minute Christmas cards made. Today I'm sharing an easel card made with the sweet image,  Caroling Kids .

My easel card was made using a card base from Bird's Cards.
I colored the "Caroling Kids " using Prismacolor Pencils and added a light-post paper piecing behind the image.

The large snowflake was cut from pearlescent and glitter cardstock. The sentiment, from Cricut, was added to a snowflake and pearls and glitter snowflake stickers were added as a final touch.

Thank you for looking! Have a great crafty day!

Christmas Fairy House Impossible Card

Today is New Release Day at Little Blue Button Stamps.

I used Christmas Fairy House for my impossible card.

I made my card design in Design Space. You can find the file here:
https://design.cricut.com/#/design/110147835

If you do not use Design Space, or you want to see how this goes together, you can find a tutorial here:
http://stampingbella.com/blog/dt-thursday-create-a-fairy-house-impossible-card-with-sandiebella/

I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color my image. I also used their clear glitter pen on the snow. I added sequins for the ornaments on the fairy house. I added the image and round mats to the card with foam tape.

I added sentiments from Digital Delights between the open spaces between the flaps. This will create more stability in the card. I also added a pine branch (file from Cuddly Cute Designs) to each sentiment.

I love the impossible card design! It looks so complicated, but is really very easy.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Snowflake Ornament

Hi! Today I am sharing an ornament I made using a tag and a snowflake from My Scrap Chick.

I used my ornaments on our Christmas tree, but you could use them for package decorations or in your windows.

Here are the images I used.
Ornament Gift Tag: click to enlargeSnowflake Layers: click to enlarge

MATERIALS

Snowflake Layers  and Ornament Gift Tag from My Scrap Chick
Dark red cardstock (Recollections)
Glossy white cardstock ( Stampin Up)
Silver pearlescent cardstock (Recollections)
Foam tape and dots
Zig fine tip glue pen and liquid glue
Red gems
Silver ribbon

Each ornament is five inches tall with a 2 3/4 inch snowflake in the middle. Each ornament is assembled on a 2 inch pentagon. For each ornament you will need five tags, a total of ten white decorative layers and one snowflake, along with the pentagon.

Fold the ornaments in half and add a white filigree layer to the outside and inside of each ornament. I used the fine tipped Zig glue pen for this.

Glue  the ornaments to each side of the pentagon with about 3/8 inch overlapping  as shown.

Assemble and attach the snowflake to the center using foam tape. Add a red gem to the center of the snowflake.

Separate the layers to give the ornament dimension. Use small foam dots up near the fold if need be. Use a foam dot between the layers at the  tip to hold that section closed. Run a hanging ribbon through.

I love how these ornaments turned out! Why not give them a try.
Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear what you think.

Happy holiday crafting!

The large ornament is 6 inches tall and the smaller ornament is 4 3/4 inches tall.  The patterned paper for the large ornament is by Recollections. I added a red lace bow to the large ornament.

I attached the Christmas Sofie image to a 4 inch oval in Design Space. I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. The image was attached with foam tape.

Eris on the Sleeping Bear

Hi! I have been busy making Christmas cards.
Today I am sharing a shaker Christmas card featuring the adorable image, Eris on the Sleeping Bear. This is such a cute image!

The card svg I used is from Bird's Cards.
I made my card using several types of cardstock. The bottom layer is silver pearlescent cardstock, the next layer is purple glossy cardstock and the top layer is light purple glitter cardstock.
I used my Fuse tool to make the shaker element of white glitter and snowflake confetti. I attached it to the back of the opening with clear tape.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, then added glitter gems to the tree. The image was added to the card with foam tape. I added the glossy oval cut from that snowflake layer behind the shaker element.

I added a Christmas tree from Cricut to the right of the shaker element and added glitter gems to the tree.

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Polar Christmas Bear Cocoa Holder

Hi! Winter will be here soon! Time for some yummy cocoa! Today I am sharing a cute double cocoa holder.

For my cocoa holder I used the adorable New Release image from Little Blue Button Stamps, Polar Christmas Bear. The New Releases can be found here:  http://lbbstamps.com/product-category/new-releases/

I made the cocoa holder in design space. You can find the file in the Cricut Community under Cocoa/Tea Holder.

Here is the open holder showing the two pockets for the cocoa packets.

Here is the holder from the side.

I used snowflake patterned cardstock from my stash for the mats. Red cardstock from Recollections was used for the holder and the double mats.

I colored my image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and accented with gel pens. I added snowflake sequins to the background and small seed beads on the Christmas tree.

As a last step I punched two holes through all the layers 2 inches in from each side, then tied the holder shut with blue Christmas ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great, crafty day!

Sunflower Greetings Card Set

Today I am sharing a sweet Sunflower Greeting Card Set which would make a great Thanksgiving Hostess Gift or just a gift for someone you appreciate.

I made this set using Sunflower Greetings from My Scrap Chick.

Sunflower Greetings: click to enlarge

The pattern includes patterns for a card, a tag and tag pocket, plus the gift box. I made two cards and two tags, but the box could easily hold three of each.

I used Beach House
double sided paper by COLORBOK for my project. Double sided paper works best for the box and tag holder so the pattern will show on the inside.

I cut a second mat from the card and tag (blue layer on the tag and orange layer on the card) from white. These were added to the inside of the card and the back of the tag so a message can be added.

I love this set! It's so easy to put together and looks great. Why not make a set for someone you are thankful for.
