Lou Lou Sew Crafty

Hi! Today is my day to share on the KaDoodle Bug Designs blog, so I decided to use the adorable "DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty" file. I am really loving the new digital images by Whimsical Inklings!

DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty

My sister is an avid sewer and quilter so I decided to make some projects for her. The "DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty" images were the perfect accents for my projects.

Materials

DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty from KaDoodleBug Designs
Parlor Patchwork from SVG Attic
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
Spectrum Noir cardstock from Crafter's Companion
Pixey Stix paper pack from The Paper Studio
Pearlescent cardstock from Recollections
Glitter cardstock from Core'dination
ribbon
1 inch and 7/8 inch button
adhesive, foam tape

The svg for the sewing machine and cards is Parlor Patchwork from SVG Attic.  I must say that working with the sewing machine pattern in design space was very difficult, so I wouldn't recommend it to a novice. The tutorial from their site for it's assembly was very good though. The sewing machine was made 7 1/2 by 7 inches (excluding the spool holder). The digital image is 3 1/4 inches tall. I love how this sewing machine turned out!

The thimble card was very easy to put together. I used a combination of glitter cardstock and pearlescent cardstock for the top layer. This card is 6 1/4 inches tall and the digital image is 4 1/2 inches tall. I used a scrap of ribbon to tie the layers together.

The tri-fold card was a quick, easy project. It measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/4 inches. The digital image is 3 3/4 inches tall.

I printed my images on Spectrum Noir Cardstock by Crafters Companion. The images range in size from 3 1/4 inches to 4 1/2 inches. I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color all the images.

Strawberry Sue Box Card

Hi! Today I am sharing my latest project for Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I used Strawberry Sue Set which can be found here:

http://digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=63&products_id=2739

CARD RECIPE

All DD Stamps Used: Strawberry Sue Set

Cardstock & Papers: Image printed on Spectrum Noir Cardstock by Crafter's Companion, colored cardstock and light green small dot by Coredinations, strawberry print by DCWV

Markers: Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, Wink of Stella, white Gelly Roll pen

Accesories/Embellishments:Box card pattern by My Scrap Chick, Leaves and flowers by cricut, small yellow gems, Sheer Petit Dot Kiwi ribbon by Offray

Special Technique: None

For the box card base I kept everything grouped and sized the box section to 11.5 inches. I made the bottom panels from the strawberry print and the top panels from the green dot print. I tied the ribbon around the box 1 1/2 inches up from the bottom and tied a bow in the front.

I used the print then cut feature of my Explore for the digital images. I made Strawberry Sue 4 inches tall. I made the oval frames 2 3/4 inches tall and attached a 1 1/2 inch strawberry to the center. I made two of these. I made the sentiment circle 2 inches.  I also made five strawberries ranging from 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches.

The vines and flowers are from cricut. There are five each of two different vines. The vines are about 4 inches long. I also made five flowers ranging from 1 to 1 1/4 inches. a Small yellow gem was added to the center of each flower.

Using the Sheer Petit Dot Kiwi ribbon, I made a small bow for the front flap and four 2 inch loops which were spaced throughout.

Roasting S'mores Kit

Even though the stores are full of "Back to School" displays there is still plenty of time to go camping and make some s'mores over the campfire. DT Shirley here sharing a cute little S'mores Kit containg everything needed to make two s'mores.

I used the adorable "Roasting S'mores Skunks" file to decorate my box.

Materials

"Roasting S'mores Skunks" svg file
Gable Box svg file from My Scrap Chick
Paper is "Summertime Stripe" from the Happy Campers Collection by Doodlebug Designs Inc. Other papers from my stash.
Acetate cut to 2 1/2 by 3 inches
small hole punch
6 inch piece of twine
Glue, glue dots or tape and foam tape
S'mores ingredients, of course!

The box measures 4 1/2 by 3 3/8 inches, just large enough for the ingredients for two s'mores. I used the slice feature in design space to create the frame around the box window.

The skunk is 2 1/4 inches tall and is attached with foam tape. The s'more tag is about 1 1/2 inches. I punched a small hole on the right side and attached it to the side with twine. For the title I sized it to 3 inches wide, then trimmed  the word 'Roasting' off.

I filled a sandwich bag with two small Hershey bars, two marshmallows and two chocolate graham crackers. A few of these would make a great addition to your next camping trip! Enjoy!

Circus Mickey Monkey Tent Shape Card

Today is new release day for Digital Delights by Louby Loo and I made a tent shaped card using several digital files.

CARD RECIPE

DD digital stamps used: Circus Mickey Monkey, Circus Tent and Party Hard Sentiment

Cardstock & Papers: Spectrum Noir Cardstock by Crafter's Companion, glitter Cardstock scraps

Markers: Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers

Color Palette

Tent: CR10, CR8, DR4, TB2, TB4, TB3, LY1, CT2, CT$
Monkey:
     Face: FS2, FS4, FS9
     Body: TN2, TN4, TN6, TN9
     Hat & Vest: CG#, CG4
     Balls: FL1, FL2, FL3, CG3

Acc. /Embellishments: Small star punch, small circle punch, 4 -  3/8 inch pearl beads.

Special Technique:

I imported the jpeg version of the tent into design space and saved it as a cut image.

I put the cut version on the mat and sized it to about 5 by six inches. I then duplicated the shape, flipped one image horizontally, brought the two shapes together so they slightly overlapped, then welded them together. I added a score line down the middle.

I then uploaded the jpeg version of the tent again and saved it as a Print Then Cut Image. I put the Print Then Cut version of the tent on the mat and sized it to match the card. The sentiment was imported as a png, then attached to the front of the tent image. The monkey is a 2 3/4 inches tall Print Then Cut image.

Once the images were colored I embellished the tent with punched glitter shapes. The tent was glued to the front of the card and the monkey was attached to the tent with foam tape. I colored the pearl beads with SN markers then attached them to the tent above the monkey.

I love making shape cards! Give it a try! Thanks for stopping by.
