Fall Wreath

Today is the start of a new Facebook challenge called "Fabulous Fall" on the KBD Challenge page. You can create  anything you like as long as it is fall themed, so grab your favorite fall files and get creative!

For my "Fabulous Fall" project I made a 12 inch fall wreath using these adorable files.

I used an 11 1/2 inch tag board ring as the base of my wreath. I cut about thirty 3 to 4 inch leaves enlarged from the files used. This was a good way to use up all my fall colored scraps of paper. The squirrels are about 5 inches tall and each acorn is about 1 1/2 inches. I made the 7 by 3 inch title in design space using Pooh font. I used three, 1 inch pieces of 1/4 inch wide ribbon to make a hangar. This was a fun, easy project.

Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to see all the great fall projects you all make!

Pumpkin Pickin Double Z Card

Fall is in the air!

Today I am sharing a double Z card using the KaDoodleBug Designs files, "Pumpkin Pickin" and "At the Pumpkin Patch" (for the pumpkin pile.)

Pumpkin Pickin'

At The Pumpkin Patch

The prints used on my card are from DCWV. Solids are from Recollections. The tractor and wagon are each 3 inches long. The title is 4 1/4 inches long. I mad an extra bear to peek out from behind the pumpkin pile. I used the pile of pumpkins from the second file and also made extra pumpkins.

Here is a link to my design space Z Card pattern, if you would like it.

It MOOSE Be Autumn

KaDoodleBug Designs Sneak Peek

KaDoodleBug Designs is having a sneak peek of new files to be released tomorrow. For my single page layout I used "CK Autumn Moose" and "Fall Borders."

I combined the two files to make the border at the bottom of the page. This is how I positioned the two files before I welded them together in design space. I made the border about 8 inches long.

I used the pumpkin border to create a 4 inch accent for the 4 x 6 inch photo mat. This mat was then mounted on an additional 5 x 7 mat. The smaller double mat is 3 x 4 1/2 inches.

The extra words for the title are made using "Pooh" from Cricut.

Most of the prints for my layout are from DCWV and the plain cardstock is from Recollections.

Be sure to check out all the new files at www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com

Lou Lou Sew Crafty

Hi! Today is my day to share on the KaDoodle Bug Designs blog, so I decided to use the adorable "DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty" file. I am really loving the new digital images by Whimsical Inklings!

DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty

My sister is an avid sewer and quilter so I decided to make some projects for her. The "DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty" images were the perfect accents for my projects.

Materials

DS Lou Lou Sew Crafty from KaDoodleBug Designs
Parlor Patchwork from SVG Attic
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
Spectrum Noir cardstock from Crafter's Companion
Pixey Stix paper pack from The Paper Studio
Pearlescent cardstock from Recollections
Glitter cardstock from Core'dination
ribbon
1 inch and 7/8 inch button
adhesive, foam tape

The svg for the sewing machine and cards is Parlor Patchwork from SVG Attic.  I must say that working with the sewing machine pattern in design space was very difficult, so I wouldn't recommend it to a novice. The tutorial from their site for it's assembly was very good though. The sewing machine was made 7 1/2 by 7 inches (excluding the spool holder). The digital image is 3 1/4 inches tall. I love how this sewing machine turned out!

The thimble card was very easy to put together. I used a combination of glitter cardstock and pearlescent cardstock for the top layer. This card is 6 1/4 inches tall and the digital image is 4 1/2 inches tall. I used a scrap of ribbon to tie the layers together.

The tri-fold card was a quick, easy project. It measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/4 inches. The digital image is 3 3/4 inches tall.

I printed my images on Spectrum Noir Cardstock by Crafters Companion. The images range in size from 3 1/4 inches to 4 1/2 inches. I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color all the images.

Roasting S'mores Kit

Even though the stores are full of "Back to School" displays there is still plenty of time to go camping and make some s'mores over the campfire. DT Shirley here sharing a cute little S'mores Kit containg everything needed to make two s'mores.

I used the adorable "Roasting S'mores Skunks" file to decorate my box.

Materials

"Roasting S'mores Skunks" svg file
Gable Box svg file from My Scrap Chick
Paper is "Summertime Stripe" from the Happy Campers Collection by Doodlebug Designs Inc. Other papers from my stash.
Acetate cut to 2 1/2 by 3 inches
small hole punch
6 inch piece of twine
Glue, glue dots or tape and foam tape
S'mores ingredients, of course!

The box measures 4 1/2 by 3 3/8 inches, just large enough for the ingredients for two s'mores. I used the slice feature in design space to create the frame around the box window.

The skunk is 2 1/4 inches tall and is attached with foam tape. The s'more tag is about 1 1/2 inches. I punched a small hole on the right side and attached it to the side with twine. For the title I sized it to 3 inches wide, then trimmed  the word 'Roasting' off.

I filled a sandwich bag with two small Hershey bars, two marshmallows and two chocolate graham crackers. A few of these would make a great addition to your next camping trip! Enjoy!

Bald Eagle Centerpiece

I just love anything patriotic!

Today I am sharing another teepee design, this time a 4th  of July centerpiece created with the KaDoodle Bug Designs file, "CK Bald Eagle." I also used a star and title from cricut.

The eagle is 5 3/4 inches tall. The star is about 7 inches.

The title is 5 3/4 inches across. The completed centerpiece is about 11 inches tall.

Back view

Papers used are from "Americana" from COLORBOK and paper from my stash. I made my base using red tagboard for stability.

If you would like the directions on how to create a teepee card or would like my design space pattern for making a teepee card, go to my June 20th post. (To make a centerpiece the same size as mine you will use 8 inch squares for the base.)

4th of July Unicorn 3-d Star

Today I am sharing a 3-d star decoration using the KaDoodle Bug Designs file "CK 4th of July Unicorn" that can be found here:

http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=55&products_id=826

I also used a 12 inch tinsel star that I bought at the dollar store and an 11 1/2 inch 3-d star pattern from My Scrap Chick.

I glued the 3-d star to the tinsel star using a hot glue gun, pushing the sides in and being careful to line up the points. I added a 6 inch, four loop bow, made with 5/8 inch ribbon from Offray, to the center. Finally I added the completed unicorn to the center of the bow. The unicorn was made from glitter cardstock and is 5 inches tall.

This decoration looks good from both sides so I can hang it in the window if I want. I'm really happy with how this project turned out. Thanks for looking and Happy 4th of July!

Fairy Bears

Today I played with combining KBD Cutie Katoodle patterns.

For my first Fairy Bear I combined the CK Cupcake Fairy Bear with the flower from the CK Sunflower Peeker Bear. This bear is 7 1/2 inches tall.

For my second Fairy Bear I combined the CK Ice Cream Fairy Bear with the flower from CK Bumble Bear Flower. This bear, with flower, is 5 1/2 inches tall.

I gave each bear vellum wings. The bottom layer is Juliana Lilacs from K & Co., and the top layer is dragonflies. (Source unknown.) I added six layers of 6 x 12 inch pieces of purple glitter tulle, gathered, and tied in the center with a 12 inch piece of purple, 1/8 inch ribbon. The extra ribbon was tied to make a hanging loop. A green and purple bow was added to each bear.

These would make cute decorations for a little girl's room, a tree, or great decorations for a special package.
