It's Pumpkin Time

HI!
It's pumpkin time!

Today I am sharing a pair of pumpkin boxes made with the My Scrap Chick file Fall Pumpkin Box.

Fall Pumpkin Box: click to enlarge

Materials

Fall Pumpkin Box file by My Scrap Chick
Patterned cardstock from "Old World Stack" by DCWV
brown cardstock by recollections
green lanyard
green and orange twine from Dollar Tree
dark orange leaf ribbon from Dollar Tree
Glue Dots and glue

The pumpkins go together quickly and easily.  I enlarged them to about 6 inches tall. I inked all the edges with orange ink. I added the dark orange leaf ribbon to the bottom edge of the top half of the pumpkin using a combination of glue and small glue dots.

For the top of the pumpkin, I first attached the stem using glue and a large glue dot. Then I inked and shaped the leaves, and glued them down around the stem. I tied a bow around the stem using about a foot each of orange and green twine. The last step was adding the vines.  These were made from green lanyard.

I wrapped the lanyard snugly around a pen and taped the end in place. I then left it in front of a heat source for a few minutes. (I put mine in front of a portable heater.) After it cooled, I unwrapped it and cut it into lengths about 4 to 5 inches long. Using small glue dots, I attached one end behind the stem.

And then this is the finished Fall Pumpkin Box! These will be used for Halloween treat boxes for my granddaughters.
These were so quick and easy to make!

Happy crafting!

Haunted House Easel Card

Well, it's October, so it must be time to start those Halloween projects!

Today I made a Halloween easel card using Haunted House Easel Card and Haunted House & Guests from My Scrap Chick.

I made the card the size that it uploaded into Design Space. I used "Spooky Delights" by DCWV for the house pillars, vellum for the ghosts and windows, and scraps from my stash for the other pieces.
I printed the sentiment from the included PDF.

The pillars, upstairs dormer window, gravestones and ghost were all attached with foam tape. I added gems on the dormer and door.

I hope you like my little easel card. I'd love to hear what you think, so please leave a comment.
Have a boo-tiful day!

Teddy Zipperz Rocker Card

Hi! Today I am on the Digital Delights by Louby Loo blog sharing how I made this cute little Halloween rocker card.

CARD RECIPE

All DD files used:Teddy ZipperzGhoulish Sentiment Set, and Rocker Card SVG cut file.

Ghoulish sentiments set
Rocker Card SVG Cut file  Teddy Zipperz
Papers & Cardstock: "Spooky Delight Stack" by DCWV, "Glitter Paper" by COLORBOK

Coloring Medium: Prismacolor Pencils

Acc./Embellishments: 4 small black rhinestones, foam tape, glue runner , glue

Technique:

I made my rocker card over-sized with the base 7 inches in diameter. I made the wavy trim slightly smaller. I folded the card base and wavy circle in half, centered the wavy piece over the base and glued them together.

The circle mat and decorative mat were enlarged to 5 inches. (I used a Halloween mat, but the included mat will work just as well.)
The white decorative circle was glued on top of the black circle. Since it's hard to glue together glitter cardstock, I used glue runner and lots of glue, then paper clipped the layers together until they dried.

Once dry, I centered this piece over the curved area of the base, centering it from behind, as shown.

The image is 3 1/2 inches tall and was colored with Prismacolor markers. The image was attached with foam tape. The color palette can be found here.

Prismacolor Pencil Palette

Cloak: 1030 Raspberry, 925 Crimson Lake, 924 Crimson Red, 1078 Black Cherry
Accents with a gold gel pen and yellow Wink of Stella

The sentiment is 1 by 2 3/8 inches and is double matted with orange and black glitter paper, and is attached with foam tape to the bottom of the card base.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial. Happy crafting!

Spidey Peggy Legz

Today is New Release Day at Digital Delights by Louby Lou. My shaker card uses the adorable file, "Spidey  Peggy Legz Set."

CARD RECIPE

All DD Stamps Used: Spidey Peggy Legz Set

Cardstock/ Papers: Image printed on Spectrum Noir cardstock by Crafter's Companion, Glitter cardstock by core'dinations, printed cardstock by Heidi Grace Designs

Markers: Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, Wink of Stella, White Gelly Roll pen

Accessories/ Embellishments: acetate, various gems & confetti, foam tape

Special Technique: None

The card base was made using "Web Card Cover" from Bird's Cards. Using  the contour feature in design space I made a solid shape the same size as the web cover. I duplicated this shape, lined the two shapes up side by side and welded them together for the card base. The actual card cover was cut from black glitter cardstock.

The shaker element was made using a 2 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch rectangle and a corresponding frame. Thin pieces of foam tape were attached all the way around the back of the frame. Attach the frame to it's back on three sides leaving the top open. Add your confetti, then seal the top.

Spidey Peggy Legz was printed 4 1/4 inches tall and the sentiment is 1 x 2 inches. They are both attached to the card with foam tape. Two small black gems were added to the title.
