Other cardstock by Coredinations

small amount of 1/4 inch wide dark pink ribbon

1/4 inch clear gem

Keeping the box pieces grouped together, I sized the bottom of the box to be 11.5 inches. I used the kitty from the card and the paw print from the tag from the Kitty Cats Belly Box Trio as decorations for my box.

I added the card front to a base from  Easel Card Collection to make it an easel card .

My grandaughter was thrilled with this set and I'm sure any kitty lovers you know will love it just as much!

Christmas in July

Hi! It's Christmas in July at My Scrap Chick and I made some cute little ornaments for my project. Since it's Christmas in July I decided to use a file that is usually associated with summer,
Birdhouse Trio and some cute little snowman bird lover files, Snowman Winter Welcome and Snowman-Bird Lover.

Birdhouse Trio: click to enlarge

Snowman Winter Welcome: click to enlarge

Snowman - Bird Lover: click to enlarge

MATERIALS LIST

 plastic clear ornament
various Christmas cardstocks,
 small white pom poms
3/8 inch ribbon or trim to match papers
1 inch to 1 1/2 inch sheer wired Christmas ribbon
1/8 inch wide ribbon or cord
glue
super glue

Since I didn't have any glass or plastic Christmas balls that open, and I live 100 miles from a decent craft store, I made do with what I had. Hubby took a Dremil tool and cut the plastic ornaments I had in half. We added two lines of masking tape with a small space between them as a cutting guide. This also cut down on chipping of the ornament.

Once they were cut in half I used an emery board to file off any rough edges.

I made each short birdhouse box about 2 1/2 inches tall. Each snowman is 1 1/2 inches tall. Each snowman was attached to a birdhouse with a foam dot, then the houses were attached to one half of the ornament with Super Glue at the bottom corners. The two halves of the ornament were then glued back together with Super Glue. The seam was covered with a 3/8 inch wide piece of ribbon or trim. About 25 pom poms were added to each ornament to represent snow, then the top of the ornament was put back on. A big bow was tied around the top of the ornament and a hanging loop was added using 1/8 inch ribbon.

This was a really fun project. I'm sorry the pictures aren't better.
