Christmas Shape Cards

It's Christmas in July at My Scrap Chick!

For my project I made three Christmas shape cards. I used Winter Wishes Christmas Card, Merry & Bright Christmas Card and Holly Jolly Christmas Card

I created my cards in Design Space. I grouped all the pieces of each card together and sized the card so the card base measured 11.5 inches. The finished cards range from 5.25 to 5.5 inches tall.

Glossy cardstock in white, red, green and black (source unknown)

Cream & gold pearlescent cardstock by COLORBOK (for candle)

Christmas trims

Various gems (Jots)

Coordinating inks

Foam squares

All the pieces were inked with coordinating inks. The cards were put together with glue and foam squares to make the titles pop. Gems and Christmas trims were added as accents.

Boarding Time Shape Card

All Aboard!

Do you have some exciting tavel plans for this summer? This cute little guy is all packed and ready to go!

 It's New Release Day at Little Blue Button Stamps and I used the cute little "Boarding Time" digi stamp to create this little shape card.

I created the shape card by welding two suitcase files from Design Space together at the sides. I cut an extra suitcase from patterned paper for the front of the card and added little rounded corners to the suitcase. I also added aqua pearls to the corners. The words "travel" and"journey" and the "Bon Voyage" luggage tag were also from Cricut. A pearl was added to the luggage tag.

I colored the cute little traveler with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Tasty Cupcake Stacked Card

Hi! Today is New Release Day at Little Blue Button Stamps and I used "Tasty Cupcake" to make this cute stacked cupcake card.

I started by uploading the file into Design Space and saving it as both a cut file and a print then cut file. I duplicated the cut file so I had three cupcakes. Two of the cupcakes are 3.5 inches tall and the other one is slightly smaller at 3 inches. I stacked the three cupcakes with the smallest one at the top and lining them up so part of each cupcake lines up along the left edge. I selected all three cupcakes and welded them together. I duplicated this piece, then flipped one piece vertically. Two pieces were line up back to back so they line up where the two pieces meet. I selected both pieces and welded them together, then added a fold line down the middle and attached it in place.

I cut this card base from the cupcake print from the Confetti Stack by DCWV.

I next took the print then cut file and duplicated it so I had three cupcakes. I sized them to match the cupcakes on the card base, then attached them to rectangles. These were printed on the paper I  used to color the images. I then took a white piece of 8.5 by 11 white cardstock and laid it on top of the paper with the printed cupcakes. Holding it up to the light so I could see the cupcakes underneath, I then attached with tape scraps of paper that I wanted for my cupcake bottoms. I then used this paper to make a second copy of the cupcakes. 

Using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers, I colored the bottom and top cupcakes so they had pink frosting, and the middle one with blue frosting. I added Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to each one, then added some seed beads to each one. I cut out and glued the bottom to each one, then added a paper pieced flower (from My Scrap Chick) to the bottom two cupcakes and a cherry to the top cupcake.

I love how this stacked cupcake card turned out!

Tea Time

Hi! I find a good cup of tea so relaxing on a cold January day, don't you?

I made this sweet little easel card using Teapot Card and Envelope and an oval easel card base from Easel Card Collection. Both files are from My Scrap Chick.

                                                                       

                                                         

The image is from Magnolia and was colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

I made the card from Cardstock from the Samantha Rose Stack from DCWV along with some scraps from my paper stash. I omitted the card layer of the file, and attached the teapot to the easel card base, I attached the image and the sentiment with foam tape, then added paper flowers, a tiny butterfly, and an aqua bow as accents.

You can turn any shape into an easel card by attaching it to an easel card base from My Scrap Chick. Give it a try. I have to admit that I have a special fondness for easel cards.

RDS Skating Shape Card

When I was growing up January always meant skating at the local outdoor skating rink.

I used Rag Doll Sweetheart Skating from Little Blue Button Stamps and a skate image from Cricut for my shape card. I welded two five inch bottom layers of the skate together, back-to-back.

 I laced the skate with 3/8 inch aqua ribbon and tied it at the top. I added snowflake stickers and gems onto the card.

I printed the image at 4.5 inches and colored her with Prismacolor Pencils. After I fussy cut her out leaving a small margin of white, I added her to the card with foam tape.

Apple Picking Time

It's that time of year - Apple Picking Time!

I made two Apple Boxes and an Apple Shape Card using the My Scrap Chick files, Sliced Apple Card which is the current Freebie, and Back to School Project Bundle for the Apple Boxes.

                                                                                              

                                                         

For the Sliced Apple Card I used a tan leaf patterned cardstock from my stash for the base. The plaid cardstock is from the Jen Hadfield Home-made Collection, The off-white is from Stampin Up and the other cardstock is from Recollections. I added a red twine bow to the top.

This box was made with the same supplies, except I made the box using red tagboard so it would be stronger.

The above box also uses all the same supplies plus a red print from Beach House by COLORBOK.

This set would be great for Back to School gifts for the kid's teachers.

BBQ Apron Easel Card

Hi! Today I am sharing a BBQ Apron Father's Day Easel Card.

For my card I used BBQ Pocket Easel Card  and  # Happy Father's Day from My Scrap Chick.

                                          

This cute BBQ apron has a front pocket to tuck in a BBQ Sauce bottle, a BBQ mitt and BBQ utensils. 

MATERIALS

Dots, Stripes and Plaids Stack by DCWV

Glitter Cardstock in green and blue by Recollections

Cardstock in white, light gray, dark gray, tan, orange and reddish brown

5/8 inch striped grosgrain ribbon

two 1/2 inch green buttons 

glue, large glue dots and foam tape

I made my card slightly larger than given. (The largest piece measured 11 1/2 inches tall.) I used the plaid cardstock for the base and the blue print for the apron. I duplicated the apron piece and made it about an inch smaller than the original apron piece. This was cut from white. I cut the pocket piece off, then layered this white piece over the blue apron piece as shown. (A message could be added to the white layer.) I cut slits at the top of the apron to run the ribbon through, turned the ribbon up about an inch, then glued it in place. Green buttons was attached with a large glue dot. More ribbon was tied around the pocket of the apron. 

The # Happy Father's Day sentiment was sized to fit on the mats. The sentiment was glued to the center of the white mat, the white mat was glued to the blue mat, and the completed sentiment was attached to the card base with foam tape.

 

I love how this card turned out!

Teacup Easel Card

                                                                                                                          

Today is my daughter-in-law's birthday so I had to make her a cute little card in her favorite color. I used Teacup Easel Cards with Pockets, and for the tag, Party Owls, both from My Scrap Chick.

Sturdy purple, lavender and a bit of white cardstock to coordinate with prints

I slightly enlarged the card to 5 inches so I could put a gift card into the pocket. The tag is 2 1/4 inches tall and the sentiment is 1 7/8 inches across. The card base, cup base, large scalloped circle, tag base, pom, pom and sentiment were cut from purple. The top layer of the tag, small circle and sentiment shadow were cut from lavender. The large circle behind the sentiment and the party hat were cut from the striped print: the top layer of the teacup was cut from the purple flower print. (I cut two of these to make it more stable.)

 I inked all the pieces with purple before assembling the card. Make sure you glue the top layer of the teacup only on the two sides and the bottom so you leave an opening at the top for your gift card, teabag or whatever.

I added pearls around the lavender circle by the sentiment, and added a slightly curved line of pearls at the top of the cup.  I made  a 2 1/2 inch bow from the tulle, then added it and the lavender flower, with glue dots, one inch in from the top right corner of the cup. The tag was tucked in under the bow and attached with glue at the top, and pop dots at the bottom. 

I hope my Daughter -in-Law likes her card.

Christmas Cheer Snow Shape Card

Special Technique: 

The shape card is my own creation and is 8 1/2 inches by 3 inches. The image was printed at 3 1/4 inches tall. The sentiment is 3 inches long. The label is 2 inches by 3 1/4 inches.  The image is attached with foam tape. Three strands of curling ribbon, 12 inches long, were tied around the neck of the bottle.
