Queen Bee Belly Box Part II

No automatic alt text available.

Today is day two of My Scrap Chick's very first Facebook Hop! If you haven't stopped by yet you'll want to check out the beautiful projects made by the Design Team and have a chance to win some great prizes.

Here is my project for the hop. I made a Queen  Bee Belly Box and some little worker bees. Check out my previous post to get the details on how I made the belly box. Today I will explain how I made the little bees.

I used the bee from the card in Bee Belly Box Trio for the wings and faces and Carrot Patch Box for the bodies.

I made my project in Design Space. Each little bee was about 4 inches tall. The heads are about 1 1/4 inches tall.

I creased the bodies along the dotted lines then glued them together, holding them together with paper clips while they dried. I left  the tops open for now so I could add treats, etc. later.

When dry I added the stripes by wrapping the bee with black 1/2 inch Duck Tape. I was careful to keep the tape parallel with the top fold and pinched the excess tape together at the sides. The extra tape was trimmed off with a scissor and any white edges were touched up with a black  Sharpee  marker.

The cute little heads were added with foam tape to the rounded flap, and the white glitter cardstock wings were added with pop dots to the back of the body. After filling the bees with goodies, I closed the flaps and pressed the rounded flaps together with a glue dot to keep it closed.

I love these cute little bees!

Be sure to visit our My Scrap Chick Facebook Hop. You may be a lucky winner of a free shopping trip.

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of my Queen Bee Belly Box project.
