Fall ' In Love

Today I am sharing two more layouts using the new Fall ' In Love Mega Collection by D;s Designs.

I love this silly picture of my adorable granddaughter! This kit was a perfect way to highlight this great photo. I started by adding the picture to one of the masks, then adding Accents and Embellishments. the final step was adding the Word Art.

My second layout is entirely different since it features a heritage photo of my husband's great grandparents. I used a variety of the included papers, embellishments, and a Word Art sentiment.

Here is all that's included in this mega collection.

You can find the Fall ' In Love Mega Collection here:

I love all the variety that is included in this kit, which makes it perfect for any of your favorite Fall Photos.

Camera Mini Album Set

Hi! With all those vacation photos we are all taking, I thought I'd make a mini album set to share with you. For my set I used Camera Trio and Filmstrip Frames from My Scrap Chick.

Film Strip Frames: click to enlarge
Camera Trio
MATERIALS LIST

My Scrap Chick files: Camera Trio and Filmstrip Frames
Papers & Cardstock: "Dots, Stripes and Plaids" by DCWV, colored cardstock by Recollections
Orange raffia
7/8 inch button
Glue & adhesive runner
Hot glue gun
Your Story machine

Following the included instructions for assembly, I made the camera box 5 3/4 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide.

I used pieces from the Camera Box file to make the mini album. I welded two camera background pieces together with a one inch strip between them. I added four score lines along the center strip. This piece is 3 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches. Decorate the front of this piece, when folded in half.

I made four double sided filmstrip pages using the double opening filmstrip. I glued the black frames to the front and back of the white bases, along the bottom and both side, leaving the tops open so photos would be easy to add. I ran four strips of hot glue down the spine, then put the four filmstrip pages in pushed up as far as they will go into the spine. Making sure they were straight, I heated the spine in my Your Story machine. The mini album measures 5 1/4 by 3 1/2 inches.

The box is large enough to fit three or four mini albums, so you could fit a who;e summer's worth of memories in one box.

I love how this project turned out! If you love mini albums give this project a try. If you like my camera mini album set please leave a comment. I love to hear from you!

Happy Crafting! ~ Shirley

March Planner Pages

I think I have caught the planner bug! Today I would like to share my March planner pages using files from My Scrap Chick.

My Scrap Chick Files Used

DIY Planner Pockets Horizontal
DIY Planner Markers
Lucky Rainbow Bears
Four Leaf Clover Trio

For the border on the left side of the first page I used the sign from
"Lucky Rainbow Bears." The sign is 2 3/4 inches tall. I used  the "DIY Planner Bookmark" file and my Cricut Explore to create a shopping list.

The second page was created using the "DIY Planner Pockets Horizontal" file. I used the sun and cloud and the bear with wagon from "Lucky Rainbow Bears" to accent the planner pocket page. The bear is 3 1/2 inches tall and the sun and cloud are about 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. I added a 6 1/2 inch long border to the top and bottom of the page using "4 Leaf Clover Trio." I also added a "Coupons" label to the pocket.

Other Products Used

Embossed Brights by Craft Smith
Colored Cardstock from Recollections
Printed Cardstock from my scrap stash

It MOOSE Be Autumn

KaDoodleBug Designs Sneak Peek

KaDoodleBug Designs is having a sneak peek of new files to be released tomorrow. For my single page layout I used "CK Autumn Moose" and "Fall Borders."

I combined the two files to make the border at the bottom of the page. This is how I positioned the two files before I welded them together in design space. I made the border about 8 inches long.

I used the pumpkin border to create a 4 inch accent for the 4 x 6 inch photo mat. This mat was then mounted on an additional 5 x 7 mat. The smaller double mat is 3 x 4 1/2 inches.

The extra words for the title are made using "Pooh" from Cricut.

Most of the prints for my layout are from DCWV and the plain cardstock is from Recollections.

Be sure to check out all the new files at www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com

Spidey Peggy Legz

Today is New Release Day at Digital Delights by Louby Lou. My shaker card uses the adorable file, "Spidey  Peggy Legz Set."

CARD RECIPE

All DD Stamps Used: Spidey Peggy Legz Set

Cardstock/ Papers: Image printed on Spectrum Noir cardstock by Crafter's Companion, Glitter cardstock by core'dinations, printed cardstock by Heidi Grace Designs

The card base was made using "Web Card Cover" from Bird's Cards. Using  the contour feature in design space I made a solid shape the same size as the web cover. I duplicated this shape, lined the two shapes up side by side and welded them together for the card base. The actual card cover was cut from black glitter cardstock.

The shaker element was made using a 2 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch rectangle and a corresponding frame. Thin pieces of foam tape were attached all the way around the back of the frame. Attach the frame to it's back on three sides leaving the top open. Add your confetti, then seal the top.

Spidey Peggy Legz was printed 4 1/4 inches tall and the sentiment is 1 x 2 inches. They are both attached to the card with foam tape. Two small black gems were added to the title.

Silly Sister Swabbies Layout

HI! Shirley here, sharing a two page layout I created using the KaDoodle Bug Designs file, "Sailor Seahorses."

Sailor Seahorses

Materials

Cardstock:
Background paper - Dip Dyed by Craft Smith
     Glitter Cardstock - Core'dinations
     Pearlescent Cardstock - Recollections
Regular cardstock - from my stash

The dip dyed cardstock was used as a background. The seaweed, anchors and spyglass are from pearlescent cardstock. The title, spines on the seahorses, coral, sand, and outer frame on the mats are from glitter cardstock.

The extra seaweed and title are from cricut. The seaweed is 9 inches tall, the seahorse is 4 inches tall, and the title letters are 3/4 inch tall.

The seaweed for this grouping is 5 1/2 inches tall, and the seahorse is 3 1/2 inches tall.

The seaweed grouping here is 11 inches tall, with the coral being 3 inches tall. The seahorse, including the anchor, is 4 1/2 inches tall.

I absolutely love this "Sailor Seahorses" file; it can be used for so many things! Thanks for stopping by. ~ Shirley

Never Forgotten

Since Memorial Day is this Monday,  I decided to make a card honoring all those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice. I made a cute little card to share with you using "Loving Memory Bears" from KaDoodleBug Designs. This file is a retiring Trina Clark file so you can get it for 90% off right now. There are a lot of adorable files that are being retired, so be sure to check them out. You can find this file here:  javascript:popupWindow('http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=89')

Open

Closed

The card base is a pattern I found at Obsessed With Scrapbooking, here: http://www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com/2016/04/videomake-fast-cricut-large-double.html

The patriotic papers I used are from "Americana" by COLORBOK.

The closed card measures 6 by 5 inches. I used a 1 1/4 by 12 inch strip of red paper for a closure. I glued the ends together in the front and glued the sentiment over the overlap. This band will slide off to open the card.

The sitting bear is 3 inches tall.

The cross is 3 1/4 inches tall.

The standing bear is 3 1/2 inches tall.

I used a combination of regular cardstock, glossy cardstock and glitter cardstock for my card. The paper piecings were attached with foam tape to give dimension to the card. I added small yellow gems to all the flowers. I punched out six small stars from red glossy cardstock to add to the small blue mats.

I hope you enjoyed my little Memorial Day project. Thanks for stopping by. ~ Shirley

Hen and Chicks Mother's Day Card

It will be Mother's Day before we know it, so I made a cute little card for my two granddaughters to give their mother. I used the KaDoodlebug Designs Patterns, CK Hen and CK Chick. They can both be found here:
http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=55&sort=20a&page=10

My card started with a 5 by 7 inch card base. I added a 4 3/4 by 6 3/4 inch red plaid mat, then a 4 5/8 by 6 5/8 inch light tan mat that was run through my Cuttlebug with the Chicken Wire embossing folder. I lightly inked this mat with brown ink. I wrapped this mat with 1/4 inch wide gingham ribbon and raffia tied in the middle and taped to the back. This was attached to the card base with foam tape.

I made the hen about 4 1/4 inches tall. She was attached to the right side with foam tape.

The chicks were made 2 3/4 inches tall. One was reversed so they would be slightly different. These were attached to the left side with foam tape.

Finally I made a 3 1/4 by 1 1/8 inch label and sentiment using my Explore. I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Woodgrain border embossing folder. I added a red plaid mat behind it and pearl accents. This was added above the chicks with foam tape.

I love how this card turned out! Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear what you think.
